Ries is obsessed with games. He’s either playing games or talking with developers about how they made their games so great. The fantastic thing is, he gets paid for doing this.
He works for Spil Games, a publisher and distributor with a global reach of over 100 million monthly users. His job is to find fun, exciting and challenging new games for those users to play, particularly for iOS and Android. He works with developers on things like licenses to ensure they can get to the biggest audiences and maximize their revenue.
He calls his job Content Acquisition to make it sound serious but actually it’s pretty cool. He has worked in the games industry for almost 8 years and has set up deals with some awesome companies like Big Fish Games, Playrix Entertainment, GameHouse and iWin, to name but a few.
On top of everything else, Ries gets to travel the globe going to conferences and meeting gamers and game developers of all types and sizes. His mission is to find the ultimate in game playing experience and give it the Spil Games treatment so it reaches a massive audience.
